THE CROW CANYON ARCHAEOLOGICAL CENTER
is a dynamic organization that offers individuals, just like
yourself, the opportunity to become involved in archaeology. A wide
variety of programs for adults, youths, and school groups are
available.
ADULTS - Contribute your time and talents to Crow Canyon's long-term research on the ancestral Pueblo Indians by working alongside professional archaeologists in our excavation and laboratory programs. Or choose from a variety of domestic and foreign travel programs. Top scholars in the fields of archaeology, history, and the arts guide your exploration of the human past and the diversity of modern cultures and lifestyles. YOUTHS - Week-long programs for middle school and high school students provide a good introduction to the archaeology of the Southwest. An intensive three-week summer field school is available for older teens. SCHOOL GROUPS - Crow Canyon's school and outreach programs educate America's youth about the value of preserving the past for the future. Students in grades 4 through 12 visit on-going excavations and participate in lifestyles activities. Crow Canyon's research and experiential education programs have gained national recognition and been sponsored over the years by grants from the National Science Foundation, the National Geographic Society, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Crow Canyon was honored to receive The Society for American Archaeology Award for Excellence in Public Education. |
