Evolving
from a concern for the Peruvian rainforest, Pantiacolla Tours operates
ecological excursions to the breathtaking Manu Biosphere Reserve, where
you can see 13 species of monkey as well as jaguar, black caiman and
giant otters. However, to Pantiacolla, embracing the many facets of
eco-tourism means helping local rainforest communities as well as
conserving flora and fauna.

Step
into the adventure of Manu National Park: Peru's Amazone
rainforest. We would like to take you there... |
Our
latest project began when it became apparent that both the culture and
territorial lands of the Yine people – who live on the outskirts of the
Manu National Park – were under threat. Their lifestyle was changing and
the population was no longer sustainable, as in the past. Pantiacolla
has a special relationship with the Yine – co-owner Gustavo Moscoso was
born in a neighbouring settlement and has retained a good friendship
with the community.
This link
helped to bring the Yine Project to life – offering a chance for the
Yine indians to earn an income through eco-tourism. As an
ever-increasing number of eco-tourists look for the chance to understand
more about native communties, the Yine Tour gives participants the
opportunity to learn while taking part in a range of traditional
activities. Hiking the trails around the comfortable Yine Lodge, you can
discover how the Yine view rainforest ecology, and find out what the
jungle means to the people who have lived there for generations.
